The PTA needs to raise funds to fulfill its mission. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to financially support the PTA.

The PTA accepts open-ended donations at all times, using the following methods:

You may donate to the PTA using a credit card on Memberhub. A portion of the donation will be used to pay transaction fees ($0.50 + 3.5% of each transaction).

Harris Teeter #

Abingdon PTA participates in Harris Teeter’s Together in Education (TIE) Program, which provides the PTA a portion of money spent at their stores by customers who link their VIC Card to Abingdon.

Help raise money for Abingdon by linking your VIC Card! Please encourage friends, families, and neighbors to also link their VIC card as well.

To link your VIC Card, you can do one of the following:

Those who linked their VIC Cards to Abingdon in previous years must do so again each year, starting August 1. VIC Card links are reset each year on May 31.

During the 2022-2023 school year, the 134 people who were signed up helped earn $1449.03 for Abingdon. Thank you!

Mabel’s Labels #

The PTA fundraises in partnership with Mabel’s Labels, a company that makes labels that parents can put on their kids’ clothing, backpack, and other belongings. The PTA earns a portion of the sales. Box Tops for Education #

Abingdon PTA participates in Box Tops for Education, which raises 10 cents for every box top scanned.

Instructions:

  1. Download the Box Tops app (Android, iOS).
  2. Select Abingdon Elementary as your school.
  3. Scan receipts within 14 days of buying participating products. (Here is a list of participating products.)

Edukit #

Edukit offers prepackaged school supplies that are tailored to meet the needs of each grade at Abingdon Elementary. The program makes it simple for families to acquire what they need, and it also serves as a fundraiser for the PTA. Edukits are typically available to order in April or May for the following school year.

Read-A-Thon #

Abingdon holds a Read-A-Thon every year — a fundraiser when students track the number of pages they read over the course of two weeks and and sponors (usually parents and grandparents) pledge to give to the PTA a certain amount of money for each page the student has read. The PTA also awards prizes to students and classes who have read the most. The Read-A-Thon is the biggest PTA fundraiser of the year.

Spirit Gear #

The PTA occasionally sells Spirit Gear (also known as Spirit Wear), which is clothing, water bottles and similar items branded with Abingdon’s name and/or logo. A portion of the proceeds go to the PTA. Check our newsletter and social media for updates about Spirit Gear.

Spirit Nights #

The Abingdon PTA is excited to host Spirit Nights at local restaurants. Check our newsletter and social media for updates about Spirit Nights.

Business Donations #
