The PTA is passing along this message from the Capital Area Food Bank and Abingdon Elementary.
The Capital Area Food Bank will hold a food distribution event at the Park Shirlington Apartments on Thursday, September 7 from 3–5 PM. These events are planned to take place monthly at Park Shirlington on the first Thursday of each month from 3–5 PM.
Volunteers are needed to set up between 1–3 PM, and to assist with distribution between 3–5 PM. If you would like to help, please call Abingdon Elementary at 703-228-6650 and ask for the school social worker Delia Dowd or the Bilingual Family Specialist Caty Branco. All volunteers are welcome!

The Capital Area Food Bank Mobile Market program provides fresh produce to local communities in need, free of charge. Intended to support members of our community at risk of hunger, there are no income requirements or other qualifications—food is provided to anyone who attends a Mobile Market distribution.
